2010 Race Information
Date: Saturday October 16th, 2010
Location: Main Beach at Cultus Lake (directions)
Distance: 30km give r take
Race starts at 9:00 am
There is an enforced cut off at Watt Creek
of 2 1/2 hours (11:30 am).
The course closes at 1:30pm.
Cost includes entry fee and a hoodie:
30km Individual Run
Before September 1st = $60
or On/After September 1st = $70
30km Team Relay
Before September 1st = $100
or On/After September 1st = $120
Part of the proceeds of the race go to charitable organizations.
Pre-Race Package Pick Up: October 9th, 2010 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Cheam Leisure Centre.
Packages are also available on race day at 7:30 am to 8:30 am at the Main Beach.
Parking: is available by the main beach all day free of charge.
First Aid: Attendants will be at the start/finish area and along the course.
Spectators: The best viewing area will be at the start/finish area and along the beach. There is limited access near Station #1. A limited number of spectators can be accomodated on the Columbia Valley Highway but please keep the route clear for the runners and be aware of traffic. Access to the horse trails is located along the Provincial Park from Clear Creek Campground - it is about a 15 minute hike.
Awards/Medals: The presentation will take place at around noon.
30 km Individual Awards - Top male and top female runners will receive the coveted walking stick award. Medals awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female runners in each age category (under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 plus).
30km Relay Awards - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team members receive medals in the following categories (co-ed team, male team, female team).
New! Spirit Award - awarded to the individual or relay team who demonstrates the true spirit of the Around the Lake Give R' Take 30 Trail Race.
How can you show your spirit? This could be done through actions, songs, cheers or costumes. Judges will be located along the trail route as well as at the start finish area. You never know who a judge might be so share the spirit with everyone!
